Joshua de Koning graduated from Texas State University with a degree and teaching certificate in English. He works as the Administrator for a downtown Austin law firm. He and his wife, Cara, have a daughter and two sons whom they homeschool – and tickle a lot.
Josh has a passion for preaching and teaching the Bible and discipling others. He is responsible for Harvest’s Small Groups and works to foster a culture of discipleship throughout that ministry.
To relax Josh dabbles in games and puzzles, and different obscure ways of making coffee.
One of his favorite Bible heroes is his namesake: Joshua, who – when God told him to be “strong and very courageous” – lived up to the command.
A book that has meant a lot to him recently is Practicing Affirmation by Sam Crabtree, which taught him how to honor God and refresh people by habitually pointing out the good that God is working in and through them.
